Logging progress
Log a value, mark a period done, or let a connected app update the goal for you.

Progress is what powers your pace forecast. Steer keeps logging as quick as possible — usually a single tap — and for some goals it happens automatically.
Metric goals: log a value
For a metric goal, tap Log and enter how much you did — 2 books, 5 km, €100 saved. Steer adds it to your running total and updates the forecast.
- The amount uses a keypad with quick-amount chips, so you rarely type a full number.
- Each entry is dated, so you can log something you did yesterday too.
There's also a Complete now action that finishes a metric goal immediately, even if the number isn't fully there yet — handy when you've decided it's good enough. To avoid accidents, it asks for a quick confirmation tap.
Time goals: log a time
If your metric goal is measured in time (a time to beat), tap Log time and enter how long your attempt took with the hours / minutes / seconds picker. Steer keeps your fastest attempt as your progress and marks the goal done the moment you beat the target — no "Complete now" needed. More on time goals →
Milestone goals: mark it done
For a milestone goal, there's no number — just Mark done. For recurring milestones, that marks the current period complete; miss a period and it shows as missed. You can toggle either way:
- Marked something done by mistake? Undo it.
- Missed a period you actually did? Mark it done after the fact.
A second confirmation tap protects the "done" action so you never complete a goal by a stray tap.
Recurring goals: this period
For recurring goals, logging applies to the current period. Once you've hit a period's target, Steer shows it as done and the only action left is Mark undone (which clears that period if you logged it by mistake).
Note
Periods follow your local calendar, so "this week" or "today" always means yours.
Let it log itself
The nicest way to track a goal is not to. When a metric goal is linked to a connected fitness app, your activities flow in automatically:
- Go for a run, and your "Run 1,000 km" goal ticks up on its own.
- Your pace forecast stays current with zero effort.

Fixing past entries
Made a mistake or forgot to log? Open View history for the goal. You can edit an entry's date or value, or delete it entirely — and the forecast recalculates instantly.
