Appearance, default views, week start, currency and units.

Preferences are the little settings that make Steer feel like yours. Find them in Settings → Preferences.
Appearance
Choose how Steer looks:
- Light or dark mode.
- Steer can also follow your system setting and switch automatically.
Default views
Set where things start so the app opens the way you think:
- The default view Steer lands on in areas like Finance.
- How your goals are sorted and laid out by default.
Week start
Pick whether your week begins on Monday or Sunday. This shapes how weekly goals and habits are bucketed, so "this week" always matches your mental model.
Note
Your timezone (set in Account) and your week start together decide what "today" and "this week" mean — so recurring goals and habits track to your calendar, not a server's.
Currency & units
- Currency — the default for all money across Steer, shown the way you expect. (Also in Account.)
- Units — the units your goals use, like kilometres or miles.
Tip
Getting currency, units and week start right up front means every chart, goal and projection reads naturally from day one — no mental conversion needed.
Everything is changeable
Like all of Steer, none of this is permanent. Change your mind about dark mode or your week start anytime, and the app updates instantly.
