Connections overview

Why connecting your calendar and fitness apps is what turns Steer from a tracker into a co-pilot.

2 min read

Connections are what make Steer feel alive. Link your calendar and your fitness apps, and Steer stops being something you maintain and starts being something that maintains itself — detecting habits, updating goals, and keeping your Brief current without you lifting a finger.

What you can connect today

More connections — for your goals, habits and finances — are on the way. If there's a specific app or service you'd like, you can request a connector right from the Connections page (see below).

Why it's worth doing

  • Less typing. Habits get detected from your calendar; goals update from your activity. You confirm rather than enter.
  • Nothing slips. Steer sees what's already on your calendar and folds it into your Brief.
  • Always current. Your "run 1,000 km" goal ticks up after every run, so your forecast is never stale.

Where to manage connections

All your connections live in Settings → Connections. For each one you can:

  • Connect or disconnect it.
  • See its sync status — when it last updated.
  • Control write-back (whether Steer can add things back to your calendar).
  • Choose which calendar to sync.

Request a connector

Don't see the integration you want yet? On Settings → Connections, tap Request a connector, choose where it should plug in (Goals, Habits or Finance), and describe the app and how you'd like it to work. It goes straight to the team as we decide what to build next.

Your control, your privacy

You decide what's connected and you can disconnect anytime. Connections use secure, official sign-in with each service, and the access that keeps them working is encrypted. Steer never sees or stores your passwords for these services.

No bank connections

Steer's finance features are manual-entry. There's no bank aggregation — Steer never logs into your bank or pulls transactions automatically. You're always in control of what's in your financial picture.
