Your assumed rate of return doesn't have to be fixed forever. Like loan rates and prices, you can schedule a change of rate from a future date, and Steer uses the rate that's in effect for each stretch of the projection — handy for modelling a more cautious return as you get closer to needing the money.

• In your net worth, an investment is an asset — it lifts what you're worth, and the line steepens as compounding kicks in.
• In your cash flow, your contributions are a recurring outflow (money moving from spending into growing).
• On your Overview, investments sit in the assets & liabilities list alongside your loans and accounts.
